The Citizen’s Caucus expressed its disagreement on Tuesday in the face of the refusal of the Ecuadorian government.
The Ecuadorian nation rejected on Tuesday the request from Mexico for former vice president Jorge Glas to be released and transferred to a third country, according to the local media El Universo, by quoting a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador.

In a press chat, the Foreign Ministry reiterated «what was mentioned in the press release of last April 5, 2024», referring to a document where Ecuador states that it disagrees with the asylum protection provided by Mexico and refuses to give safe passage to Glas.
The Citizens’ Caucus expressed its disagreement on Tuesday with the refusal of the Ecuadorian government to grant the safe-conduct for the former vice president.
“This decision, announced by President Daniel Noboa, represents, once again in this case, the injustice and dehumanization that we as a society must condemn,” he says.
In the statement, they stated that “humanity and justice do not lie in lies and mediocrity”.
In this sense, he stressed that it is a sign of violation of rights and an “innocent man, icon of political persecution in Ecuador”.
The text also states that the Ecuadorian government has shown its indifference to “the violation of human rights and the unjust situation in the country for three governments”.
